VacnSeal® Installation Instructions
Choosing a VacnSeal Mounting Location (VacnSeal to be positioned under cabinet.)
- Choose a location where a firm surface of a cabinet will exist.
VacnSeal 1/2" clear tubing, that supplies suction from the vacuum system, can be attached to the Vacnseal in three ways: to an extension arm looking up into a cabinet, or a different extension arm (included) looking down away from the cabinet, and lastly without any extension arm. The tubing can be connected directly to the VacnSeal. (Please use Clear Vinyl tubing that is 1/2 inch ID and 3/4 inch OD. It is strong and very difficult to kink.)
- Insure that adequate space will exist below the VacnSeal for the nozzle arm to rotate down and into zippered storage bags. Be sure the to mount the VacnSeal so the nozzle pivots down and towards the user.
- VacnSeal can also be installed vertically (Dia. B) on the walls of cabinets or pantries. The nozzle would rotate out instead of down and the "u-turn" adaptor is used on the nozzle as it connects to the VacnSeal. The VacnSeal can even be mounted on on pantry doors by utilizing a sufficient length of clear tubing. (Be sure the screws used to mount the VacnSeal do not penetrate through the other side of the pantry door.)
New Construction (Rough-in Installation) (VacnSeal to be positioned under cabinet.)
- ROUGH-IN OPTION 1
Install a standard, non-electric central vacuum backing plate behind the cabinet where the VacnSeal will be located. Tie the backing plate into the central vacuum piping system along with low voltage wire. Use the Reduction Adaptor fitting that fits over vacuum pipe and has the fitting for the 1/2" tubing. At the backing plate stub out several feet of low voltage wire for remote activation and cover the mounting plate with a plaster guard to protect the plate and insure that it can be found after the cabinets are installed. A finish plate will be used to complete the installation after the cabinets are installed.
- ROUGH-IN OPTION 2
Attach Reduction Adaptor (included with the VacnSeal) to the central vacuum pipe. Attach the 1/2" clear tubing the Adaptor and plumb it out of the wall where the cabinet will be and near where the VacnSeal will be. Also run low voltage wire with the tubing and stub several feet of it out. The cabinet installers should cut around the tubing and wire and leave it exposed in the cabinet.
- FINISH INSTALLATION
- FOR OPTION 1
Install the VacnSeal wall plate cover with provided screw. An inlet valve extension (included) will be needed if there exists a gap between the mounting plate and the wall plate cover. Attach the clear tube to the cover and run it to the VacnSeal's extension arm that is looking up from the under side of the cabinet through a 9/16" hole. The VacnSeal and extension arm need be installed under the cabinet first together before the clear tubing can be attached. The low voltage wire that is attached to the Vacnseal slides through a channel and wraps snug around the arm as it turns 90-degrees into the cabinet.
- FOR OPTION 2
Run the clear tubing to the VacnSeal's extension arm that is looking up from the under side of the cabinet through a 9/16" hole. The VacnSeal and extension arm need be installed under the cabinet first together before the clear tubing can be attached. The low voltage wire that is attached to the Vacnseal slides through a channel and wraps snug around the arm as it turns 90-degrees into the cabinet.

Existing Home Construction (Retrofit Installation) (VacnSeal to be positioned under cabinet.)
- Identify if the existing central vacuum PVC pipes are run above or below (in attic or basement) the kitchen area. The pipe may be above a second story as well.
- PIPES ARE ABOVE KITCHEN AREA
Drill a one inch hole in the top of the cabinet or in the studded wall above the VacnSeal location into the attic.
- PIPES ARE BELOW KITCHEN AREA
Design the pipe to run up into a pantry or behind a stove or refrigerator. If needed, the 1/2" clear tubing can be ran exposed against a wall, in a pantry, or in a cabinet.
- Attach the 1/2" tubing to the existing central vacuum pipe. Cut a section of the straight pipe and install the sweep 90 connection pointing up and with the sweep sweeping towards where the vacuum dirt collection is (to make sure you get the flow right). Use regular PVC glue.
- Install the Reducer Adaptor on the sweep 90 connector.
- Run the clear tubing to the VacnSeal's extension arm that is looking up from the under side of the cabinet through a 9/16" hole. The VacnSeal and extension arm need be installed under the cabinet first together before the clear tubing can be attached. The low voltage wire that is attached to the Vacnseal slides through a channel and wraps snug around the arm as it turns 90-degrees into the cabinet.
